NDCA 2015 Annual Meeting

The NDCA 2015 Annual Meeting was held on Friday, June 5, 2015 at Wilderness Ridge in Lincoln, Nebraska. NDCA members and guests benefited from many presentations including an update on Nebraska law presented by Terry Wittler; a discussion of law firm metrics and how to bridge the generation gap held by John Trimble; an overview of the changes in the defense practice and methods to be successful presented by William Lamson; a presentation of artful negotiations held by Maren Chaloupka; a discussion of recent developments in the ethics of social media and cloud computing presented by Mark Weber; and a view from the bench presented by The Honorable Travis O’Gorman, District Court Judge for the 12th Judicial District. The meeting also incorporated a breakout session held for associates and law clerks which included a panel discussion of best practices, resources to utilize, and pointers for client development. A discussion of the new Young Lawyers section of the NDCA was also included within the breakout session. The meeting was concluded with a golf outing and social hour.

2015 NDCA Awards

The NDCA presented the following awards at its Annual Meeting on June 5, 2015. The 2015 Defense Lawyer of the Year was presented to James A. Snowden of Wolfe, Snowden, Hurd, Luers & Ahl, LLP. Steven W. Olsen of Simmons, Olsen Law Firm was awarded the DRI Exceptional Performance Award for his service as NDCA President this last year. Congratulations to the NDCA award recipients!
